16:05 ardissone: ok, everyone open http://wiki.caminobrowser.org/Status_Meetings:2010-04-28:Agenda
16:05 ardissone: first up, i got a nice long email the other day from murph
16:05 ardissone: he says hello, that he misses working with us, and doesn't want us to think he's forgotten us
16:06 Wevah: you forgot to tell us to open it in our caminos
16:07 ardissone: he's really busy right now working on i* device apps and for his family's business, but hopes in a bit things will calm down enough that he can start hacking on Camino again
16:07 Wevah: >_>
16:07 Wevah: nice
16:08 ardissone: on to 2.0.2 crashes
16:08 ardissone: more this week, but it seems like mostly in the long tail, since #s for the top 10 declined :P
16:08 ardissone: (slightly)
16:09 ardissone: there's nothing really new or interesting there
16:10 ardissone: other than lately all the _objc_error crashes have either nsCocoaWindow or JEP swizzling, or both! :P
16:11 ardissone: anecdotally, I haven't seen the stuck button issue in the 1.9.2 builds
16:11 Wevah: fun times
16:11 ardissone: so there's hope at least that the crashes related to the stuck buttons might be gone
16:11 ardissone: once we move there
16:11 ardissone: anyone have anything else on 2.0.2?
16:12 ardissone: Sam mentioned stats again last week, but then we went to Romania :P
16:13 ardissone: all of the 1.6.11 crashes I looked at this week were 10.3.9 ones
16:13 ardissone: of course, we don't see any 10.4/10.5/10.6 Intel people at all this way, so YMMV
16:14 ardissone: on to 2.0.3
16:15 ardissone: landed the Sparkle null-checks last week
16:16 ardissone: andy pushed them last night, though there seems to be some debate in Sparkle-land if the code could ever hit them :P
16:17 ardissone: actually, looks like maybe he landed an extra error generation; i'll check that more closely
16:18 ardissone: we had a couple of breakthroughs last week on "Death by Flash logging"
16:18 ardissone: one, stuart found that it's an OS call failing for some reason
16:18 ardissone: two, philippe found that is was indeed drawing models that "caused" the regression
16:19 ardissone: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=541897
16:19 ardissone: smorgan: do you think you might be able to tell anything from examining the patches, were you to get a chance to do that?
16:20 smorgan: What patches?
16:20 ardissone: the drawing models patch and the regression follow-ups
16:20 smorgan: It sounds like Flash is just doing something different under the other drawing model
16:21 smorgan: (although since this is event stuff, I'm somewhat surprised)
16:21 ardissone: oh, calling/not calling the OS code that eventually fails?
16:21 smorgan: Maybe
16:21 smorgan: We could try turning off CG support to test that
16:22 smorgan: To make sure it's not a regression in other code
16:22 ardissone: ok
16:22 smorgan: I'll try to test that this week
16:22 ardissone: ok, thanks :)
16:23 ardissone: in terms of other things we're really waiting on for 2.0.3
16:23 ardissone: smorgan's metadata rewrite is in pink's queue
16:23 pinkerton: ah ok
16:23 ardissone: would like to have that on for a bit before we do a build
16:24 ardissone: and then Flash exceptions list
16:24 ardissone: hendy: ^^^ ?
16:24 hendy: no progress yet, been flat out with other stuff :(
16:24 ardissone: ok
16:25 hendy: it's still on my radar for when i have a spare block of time
16:25 ardissone: at some point soon I think we're going to need to just draw the line and push the fixes we have
16:26 ardissone: it's been 9 weeks since 2.0.2
16:26 ardissone: and five since the Gecko release
16:27 ardissone: anything else on 2.0.x?
16:28 ardissone: ok, on to 2.1
16:28 ardissone: the last of hendy's original 1.9.2 patches landed last week!
16:28 hendy: now i just need to write some new ones
16:29 ardissone: i'm going to see about tacking the null-checking one; I can probably figure out how to copy/paste that one
16:29 ardissone: unless cl "Mr Null-Check" gets to it ;)
16:30 hendy: which one is that?
16:30 ardissone: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=553864
16:30 ardissone: "Add null-checks to lying Gecko macros on 1.9.2 and 1.9.0"
16:30 ardissone: mostly the places code, iirc
16:31 hendy: oh, yeah, that one
16:32 ardissone: when we next see markus, need to ask him about his printing patch again; i haven't seen him doing much in widget lately, so i presume he's just really busy, too
16:32 ardissone: we've also now got a case of autocomplete window magically reappearing on 1.9.0
16:33 ardissone: on a G3, so it's definitely speed-related
16:33 ardissone: hendy's got a patch that should fix that; it's also in pink's queue
16:33 pinkerton: ok i'll look
16:34 ardissone: (and dan's patch to stop completing search bookmark shortcuts is there, too; I refreshed it for bitrot and smorgan's r comments)
16:35 ardissone: i've been working on makefile/plist keys stuff, getting frustrated, and finding some other small bugs to fix :P
16:35 ardissone: philippe has the last, i think, of the icon changes in smorgan's queue
16:35 smorgan: Yeah, I'll look at those soon
16:37 ardissone: i think that's basically all of our 2.1 progress from the last week
16:37 ardissone: for those of you frustrated with mxr+hg blame losing your anchor, my patch for that was pushed live last night :)
16:38 ardissone: making life with hgweb suck a little bit less :P
16:39 ardissone: oh, Heeboo is still working on fixing gestures, i guess
16:40 ardissone: haven't head anything specifically in a couple of days
16:41 ardissone: anyone have anything else on 2.1 or 1.9.2?
16:44 ardissone: anyone have anything else on anything else?
16:45 ardissone: ok then
16:46 ardissone: everyone please work on your 2.0.3/2.1 patches/reviews, and have a good week :)
