General Plans

  • Next week: are we meeting the day before Thanksgiving?
  • Camino 1.6
    • Scoping
      • Meet-up additions added to the scoping document and Bugzilla; no pre-meet-up bugs were removed (mostly P3/polish-type bugs and regressions)
      • Fixed bugs on the list currently indicated by strikethrough
      • Most of Tab Scrolling is done, as is AppleScript (P3), but most of other "big" features not underway (at least not "publicly")
      • swupdate should be about ready, pending not finding more bugs
      • jeff has been poking the tab dragging code (update)
      • batwood has patches for both of his 1.6 bugs (patch for multiple accounts in smorgan's queue)
      • murph has patch for search editor (waiting smorgan review) and has mostly wrangled OpenSearch; should have a solution to fully establish a working key-view loop throughout the browser window after that
      • ardissone has been fighting Makefiles for AppleScript feed handlers
  • Camino 1.6a1
    • When?
    • Need to land last swupdate ancillary bugs (see below)
    • xpt wrangling
    • nominate any major/dataloss bugs that need to be fixed for a1
    • please help out with any P1s (see query below)
  • Camino 1.5.4
    • Gecko 1.8.1.10 coming right after Thanksgiving as a firedrill
    • Our xpt fixes uncovered more xpt/component bugs (see Bug 402243), so xpt/component audit is a must for 1.5.4
    • 10.5 bugs; some are fixed and we should take them all(?)
    • Talkback for 1.5.3
      • Flash is #1
      • Crash on quit ("pass-the-buck" Core Bug 349463) is #2 (bsmedberg has a trunk patch!)
      • 5 of 20 libobjc (#3) crashes are 1passwd
      • libSystemB (#4) Bug 401835 is plugin-related (where there are constant stacks; we have some emails, if there's anything we might ask them)
      • CoreFoundation (#5)
      • DesktopServicesPriv (#6) - Bug 402169, random hex + DesktopServicesPriv + Spotlight (#7)
      • Cocoa (#9) - random crashes on 10.5
      • nsDocumentObserverList::RemoveElement (#10) - Bug 395916 (Smokey emailed the two we have an email for, asking for Camino Diagnostics and more info); there's also a live user in the forum
    • Still cleaning up stuff from the website switch; file bugs against Product Site if you see anything. Sam landed a number of fixes this week
  • 10.5 Issues - which will we fix for 1.5.x?
  • Tinderboxen
    • linear-ish T* increases on boxset (Tp, Tdhtml dropped a bit recently; Ts still rising) and maya; maya reboot helped some
    • binus is hanging on grey Apple while booting :( (binus is doing 1.5.x coverage and is our 10.3 test box)
    • cb-x1 will continue running 1.8.0 "for a little while"
  • Weekly Bugs and Queues update
    • The review queue is getting large again; please help if you can (in particular, smorgan has a number of large patches to review that we want for a1 or immediately after, so if we can help smorgan's queue in other ways…). The number of 1.6-targeted bugs keeps growing into the high-30s; we need to work on making it drop into the high-20s.

  • Bug 201723 - Search engine editor
    • murph has some new UI mockups for us
      • update: Our new plan is to just get the functionality in place and refine the UI as needed in an additional bug (with only minor tweaks related to the visual appearance; nothing drastic as far as the overall behavior is concerned).
  • Bug 185436 - Software update for release builds
    • Landed in the tree; waiting on tagging and then Bug 403273 to land patches that enable it
    • localization - Bug 401017 - will need to work something out to not build l10ns in en-only but get them to l10n teams so they don't have to re-localize
    • appcast - Bug 401474
  • Bug 361103 - When scrolling tabs, buttons should be disabled once the end of the bar is reached (before mouse up)
    • In theory P1 UI bugs are all to be fixed for a1

  • UNCOs
    • Bug 376930 - Overflow tab menu covers whole upper right part of my screen
      • Need to find a way to "promote" this as an area we'd like user feedback on in 1.6a1
  • Trunk
    • Bug 401383, Bug 401328 - tab bleeding not fixed for Camino, caused white rectangle, too; needs someone who can do some debugging
    • Need to keep an eye on trunk regressions, determine if they're Camino-only or partly/wholly Core, and consider requesting blocking1.9? for the latter set.
    • xpfe cleanup
      • Bug 383085 has a patch to remove a number of xpfe directories
      • stefanh has a "build finishes, crashes on startup" MOZ_XUL_APP patch
