[01:25am] You changed the topic to "http://wiki.caminobrowser.org/Status_Meetings:2008-10-15:Agenda". [01:25am] cl|zzz was promoted to operator by you. [10:28am] cl|zzz is now known as cl. [11:56am] murph joined the chat room. [12:01pm] smorgan was promoted to operator by you. [12:01pm] murph was promoted to operator by you. [12:02pm] peeja joined the chat room. [12:02pm] peeja was promoted to operator by you. [12:02pm] ardissone: waiting on pink [12:07pm] pinkerton joined the chat room. [12:07pm] pinkerton was promoted to operator by you. [12:07pm] ardissone: ok [12:08pm] ardissone: everyone open your caminos to http://wiki.caminobrowser.org/Status_Meetings:2008-10-15:Agenda [12:09pm] ardissone: 1.6.4's been out about three weeks, and generally everyone seems happy [12:09pm] ardissone: at least if they aren't hitting that Core xmlhttpreq crasher [12:09pm] ss: Yeah, fwiw, Talkback is broken for Firefox/Thunderbird too. [12:09pm] ardissone: Talkback's still broken and there's no ETA for a fix [12:10pm] ss: So it's a priority on my list, just that everything else is more of one. ; [12:10pm] ss: even [12:10pm] ardissone: so combing through reports and getting stats is more difficult than normal [12:10pm] ardissone: the big surge in the last week seems to be libSystemB [12:10pm] ardissone: which is mostly RealPlayer [12:11pm] ardissone: and random bits of startup code [12:11pm] ardissone: dunno if the two new versions of 1passwd in the past week contributed to the surge? [12:12pm] ardissone: if they're really responsible for the random bits of startup code, perhaps [12:12pm] pinkerton: we just can't win [12:12pm] ardissone: it even crashes checkForProblemAddons [12:12pm] pinkerton: lol [12:13pm] ardissone: so if it's 1passwd causing the crash, we can't even warn them on those crashes [12:13pm] ardissone: anyone have anything else on 1.6.4? [12:14pm] ardissone: nothing much on the 1.6.5 front [12:14pm] ardissone: we have a few noms, a few of which are fixed [12:15pm] ardissone: Gecko'll freeze next week and aim to release mid-nov [12:15pm] ardissone: anything else on 1.6.x? [12:16pm] ardissone: 2.0 [12:17pm] ardissone: we've been frozen a bit over two weeks now [12:17pm] ardissone: that's let us pick up Gecko fixes for the two biggest fixed Gecko bugs [12:17pm] ardissone: but we still have some serious-but-hard-to-pin-down Gecko issues that need Core investigation [12:18pm] ardissone: (that i suspect will not be investigated) [12:18pm] smorgan: everyone knows that a bug that isn't 100% reproducible isn't real [12:18pm] ardissone: also, after the disaster releases while sam was on vacation, they're clamping down on bug approvals [12:19pm] ardissone: so i think we'll probably be stuck with Gecko-as-it-is [12:20pm] ardissone: we've found two camino bugs in the freeze [12:21pm] ardissone: one stuart's fixed and landed [12:21pm] ardissone: the other is that the keyboard loop apparently broke the ability to open new windows in the background [12:22pm] ardissone: (i.e., the shift key is ignored when cmd-click is set to windows, not tabs) [12:22pm] smorgan: someone just needs to walk through that in the debugger and see what's happening [12:22pm] ardissone: so our non-tabs users will be upset with us in a1 [12:22pm] ardissone: murph: can you look at that? [12:23pm] murph: ardissone: yeah, sure I can [12:23pm] ardissone: good [12:23pm] ardissone: the other thing is we've been trying to catch mento between holidays for his final stamp on the relnotes and then the build stuff [12:24pm] ardissone: with no success as of yet [12:24pm] ss: mento has a bread truck factor of 1 and that's a problem. [12:25pm] ardissone: sam is proposing sending the sr on the notes elsewhere and spinning following the guide [12:26pm] ss: I am, sorry, got distracted. [12:26pm] ss: Smokey can spin using the guide, I think. [12:26pm] ss: And a couple of us have gone over the notes. [12:26pm] ss: If they're wrong, mento can look them over for b1. [12:27pm] ss: (And fix them.) [12:27pm] ardissone: is a bit afraid of the cvs part, but the tinderbox part should be nothing [12:27pm] ss: Sound good? [12:27pm] ss: Yeah, well, first time you're allowed to mess up. [12:27pm] ss: Just no "cvs rm" and you'll be okay. [12:27pm] ss: [12:28pm] ardissone: i couldn't get a block, realistically, until Thurs night, i don't think [12:29pm] ardissone: wonders what pinkerton and smorgan think [12:29pm] ss: That's likely sooner than mento. [12:29pm] ss: And we're going on two weeks of waiting, no? [12:29pm] smorgan: If we can ship it, we should [12:30pm] ss: Holding up the rest of development is bad. We need to keep moving. [12:30pm] pinkerton: yeah [12:30pm] ardissone: k [12:30pm] ardissone: ss: you want to give the notes an r and smorgan change his to sr? [12:30pm] ss: Sure [12:31pm] ardissone: waits on bugzilla [12:31pm] ardissone: (this is getting soooo old) [12:31pm] ardissone: bug 450433 [12:32pm] ardissone: on to the features and people [12:32pm] ardissone: still no sign of jeff since last week [12:32pm] ardissone: though i hear he was in sam's old stomping grounds [12:33pm] ardissone: we've just talked about the latest bug from the keyboard loop, though there are others [12:34pm] ardissone: murph's patch for dragging is up; has anyone tried it? [12:34pm] ardissone: s/ / else/ [12:34pm] smorgan: I've played with it a bit, but haven't had a chance to review [12:35pm] ardissone: it seems to work pretty well for me; there are a few smaller things i found [12:35pm] smorgan: yeah, it was slick in my testing [12:36pm] ardissone: so that's promising, if nothing else [12:36pm] ardissone: murph: you're working on the keyboard loop bugs and the font thing while awaiting review, right? [12:38pm] ardissone: hendy should be back next week, i think; though he may have less time going forward [12:39pm] ardissone: ss: any updates on the icon stuff? [12:40pm] ss: Not right now, no. [12:40pm] ss: Should have something next week. [12:40pm] ardissone: k [12:40pm] ardissone: grr [12:40pm] ardissone: camino just quit on me [12:40pm] murph: ardissone: yeah, I'm looking into all of those... [12:41pm] ardissone: [12:42pm] murph: thanks for the tab dragging comments [12:42pm] ardissone: thanks for the feature [12:42pm] murph: hey my pleasure! Scratched my own itch there [12:43pm] ardissone: the other two big things left on 2.0 list, i think, are breakpad and Gecko strings l10n [12:44pm] ardissone: (we need to finish tabsposé, too, but it's basically shippable now, i think, worst-case) [12:45pm] ardissone: someone with strong regex/sed-fu could look at the Gecko strings stuff [12:45pm] ardissone: otherwise, these are both on stuart and will impact his r/sr time, or will miss 2.0 [12:46pm] ardissone: l10n will be very annoyed about one, and i'll be unhappy about the other ;) [12:47pm] ardissone: anyone have anything else on 2.0-anything? [12:49pm] ardissone: we're working to keep the minis running [12:49pm] ardissone: so that when cb-x1 dies we won't be completely dead [12:50pm] ardissone: they like to stop responding to the network every 7-10 days [12:50pm] ardissone: so for now there's a manual cron job called "restart the minis each weekend" :P [12:51pm] ardissone: anyone have anything else? [12:53pm] ardissone: ok then [12:53pm] ardissone: everyone please have a good week and work on patches and reviews :)
