16:00 ardissone: brb
16:06 ardissone: ok
16:06 ardissone: i'm guessing this is all we're getting today :(
16:06 ardissone: Everyone please open your Camino 2.0.2rc or newer to http://wiki.caminobrowser.org/Status_Meetings:2010-02-17:Agenda ;)
16:07 ardissone: if this makes no sense today, i was trying to spin a release with bonsai down, with a headache, and other sorts of fun :P
16:08 ardissone: On 2.0.1, there was a huge jump in crashes over the last week
16:08 ardissone: up over 1K
16:08 ardissone: the vast majority of them were Flash
16:08 ardissone: surprise, surprise
16:09 ardissone: there's also a series of Flash-triggered crashes in OS font code that have been coming on strong
16:10 ardissone: the nativeThemeCocoa crash and Armen's crash were both up this week, too
16:11 ardissone: anyone have anything else on 2.0.1?
16:12 ardissone: on 1.6.10, crashes there continue to decline; the % of Flash crashes continue to rise
16:12 ardissone: at 45% currently :P
16:13 ardissone: nothing new on the 1.6.11 front, other than we'll not take the newer Flashblock there :P
16:13 ardissone: Anyone have anything else on 1.6.x?
16:15 ardissone: on 2.0.2, philippe found a last-minute Flashblock regression (blocked Silverlight unconditionally) on Monday
16:15 ardissone: thanks to everyone who helped get a fix in in 24hrs
16:16 ardissone: I built the 2.0.2rc last night in the midst of moz system failures
16:16 ardissone: (so extra sanity-checking would help)
16:17 ardissone: The Gecko release is going to be today; we're shooting for next Tues
16:17 ardissone: have a few relnotes in from l10n, and Marcello's going to be in London EOW/weekend
16:18 ardissone: on 2.0.3, cl reported he had nothing to report, so the Flash exceptions list fix is still in limbo
16:18 ardissone: On Armen's crash, i think hendy should just ask bz for review; it seems to work
16:19 hendy: righto
16:21 ardissone: put it through the tryserver on 1.9.2 the other day and didn't see anything that seemed bad, though frankly it's hard to tell :P
16:22 ardissone: also on the 2.0.x front is the evil 10.6 Flash spam
16:23 ardissone: philippe got some more verbose logs this week
16:24 ardissone: it's hard to tell from user comments whether things get bad during use, or only if log rotation hangs their machines
16:25 ardissone: anything else on 2.0.x?
16:25 » Wevah joined the chat room.
16:25 » Wevah was promoted to operator by ardissone.
16:26 ardissone: ok, on 2.1
16:26 ardissone: on autocomplete, the ball is back in Dan's court
16:27 ardissone: at least in the 1.9.2 build, the auto-appearing window isn't fixed
16:27 ardissone: and sometimes autocomplete triggers random pages from history or incorrect URLs
16:27 ardissone: i haven't been able to pin down good STRs for any of the things I've seen
16:28 ardissone: cl alluded that he had seen some of them in 1.9.0 builds
16:29 ardissone: so it's possible that something bizarre makes it worse
16:29 ardissone: dunno
16:30 ardissone: we haven't heard from dan in a few weeks; hopefully now that smorgan's done with the perf patch review we'll see him again soon
16:31 ardissone: On history, kreeger says he hopes to get to hendy's patch EOW or the weekend
16:32 ardissone: Monday night we put out a 1.9.2-based build and notified the forum
16:32 ardissone: so far we haven't heard of too many issues, surprisingly
16:33 ardissone: I've been pulling things out and listing them http://wiki.caminobrowser.org/User:Sardisson/Gecko_1.9.2_Bugs
16:33 hendy: people are liking the speed
16:33 ardissone: generally, there are some focus-related issues (I added another one today)
16:34 ardissone: the random IdleTimerVector crashes
16:34 ardissone: and there's a dl folder regression
16:34 smorgan: The Internet Config stuff got ripped out IIRC
16:34 ardissone: yeah
16:35 ardissone: i think it's two prefs now
16:35 ardissone: one for the folder, and one to say if you use the pref for the folder
16:36 ardissone: i think sdwilsh changed it before the IC stuff got ripped out, which is why josh could say the IC code was dead
16:36 smorgan: It certainly should be dead :P
16:37 ardissone: i'm going to see about rebuilding this PM with smichaud's fix-for-the-fix-for-the-original-IdleTimerVector crash and see if it helps
16:37 ardissone: that's the thing that's most worrisome to me right now
16:38 ardissone: (smaug showed up in the forum thread and asked us to file bugs on focus issues and cc him and enn, so I have hope that any Core parts will get fixed)
16:38 ardissone: so
16:39 ardissone: i *think* probably by next week we should be able to say whether 1.9.2 will be viable
16:40 ardissone: anyone have anything else on 2.1?
16:42 ardissone: oh, i should say i'm still wrestling with the cvs->hg conversion; this last attempt turned out even worse, with more changesets split up, and some random tags :P
16:43 ardissone: Summer of Code: still adding things to the scratchpad
16:43 ardissone: keep adding ideas you have
16:44 ardissone: someone pointed out in the forum that we're also nominated in "Best Mac Browser" in the about.com awards
16:45 ardissone: we're losing to everyone but OW there :P
16:45 ardissone: http://macs.about.com/od/readertoreader/ss/readers-choice-2010-vote_8.htm
16:45 » ilya joined the chat room.
16:45 smorgan: Wow, almost 500 total votes
16:45 » ilya was promoted to operator by ardissone.
16:45 ardissone: yeah :P
16:45 smorgan: Clearly getting a good sample of the whole internet
16:46 ardissone: there are far more votes in the independent browser category :P
16:47 ardissone: (most of them for K-Meleon) :P
16:47 ardissone: ss: any updates on the AppZapper stuff?
16:50 ardissone: ahem
16:51 ardissone: well, on the bugs front, we've done a lot of work that's not showing up in bugs
16:52 ardissone: anyone have anything on anything else today?
16:54 ilya: oh, on the website front -- the main picture
16:54 ilya: are we using JS to do the image rotation?
16:54 ardissone: mhm
16:54 ilya: it bugs me that I have "play animated images only once" checked and it continues to loop :P
16:54 ardissone: haha
16:55 ardissone: go ahead and file that
16:55 ardissone: we need to have a better non-js experience for it, too
16:55 ilya: k
16:56 ardissone: also, i meant to say before on the 1.9.2 bugs
16:56 ardissone: there's a multitouch problem, too; not sure if it's focus or something else
16:57 smorgan: Gecko added multi-touch support
16:57 smorgan: They are probably eating them before we see them
16:57 ardissone: and that broke ours?
16:57 ardissone: ah
16:57 ardissone: ew
16:58 smorgan: I had been watching the bug back in the day, but when it became clear it was post-1.9.0-only I stopped paying attention
16:58 ardissone: any idea off-hand if it'd be easily fixable?
16:59 smorgan: I imagine it would mean setting up event handlers for the events they send, however that works
16:59 smorgan: Assuming embedders can do that
16:59 ardissone: heh
16:59 ardissone: "js-only" :P
16:59 smorgan: I don't know how they ended up being plumbed
17:00 ardissone: ok
17:01 smorgan: bug 412486 comment 46 sounds like the answer
17:02 ardissone: ok
17:03 ardissone: at any rate, please do keep playing with the 1.9.2 builds so that we see what's broken; the more things we try, the better our decision-making will be and the less likely we'll be blind-sided later on by something we've missed
17:05 ardissone: ok, everyone please work on 2.1-related bugs/reviews and have a good week :)
