Tab overflow will be extended to include 2 clickable arrows (one at either side of the tab bar) when a user has more tabs open than the number of tabs that can fit in the tab bar. Bug 319777.

A user is viewing 3 tabs and as shown above they fit into the tab bar without any overflow. If the user wants to open another tab in this window then overflow control is needed.

The user now has more tabs than can be displayed at a preset width (tab widths will not shrink, but the size of all tabs will be [able to be] user defined [through the preference pane].

When a user clicks on one of the arrows at either side, and it is possible to scroll in that diection, then the tab bar will scroll in that direction.

If the user now adds another new tab then it will be possible for the user to scroll in either direction.

Notes: The current "chevrons' at either side of the tab bar may need to be slightly wider to accomodate a seamless transition between overflow and no overflow.

The arrows at either side will not be visible when all open tabs fit inside the tab bar.

Problems: If a user is dragging tabs, will mouse-over presence on an arrow cause the tab-bar to slide?
