General Plans

  • Camino 2.0a1
  • Camino 1.6.4
    • Released five weeks ago
    • Talkback is broken; waiting on MoCo, w/no ETA (all 1.6.4 crashes — 2022; increasing ~300/wk)
      • Hard to tell much without topcrashers, but Flash looks like #1, libSystem.B seems to had a big uptick over the last week (RealPlayer, Bug 448554, bug 448554 comment 1), usual suspects + Core xmlhttpreq also up there
    • Cleaning up stuff from the website; file bugs against Product Site if you see anything.
    • Need to be more diligent about asking about IMs up-front: "I have problem x" "Do you have any input managers installed (e.g., 1Password)?" (We'll have to specifically mention 1Password, since people mostly don't know how it's implemented)
    • Be very careful asking people to test trunk nightlies, since they do irreversible profile damage.
  • Camino 1.6.5
    • Need to spin ASAP; Gecko release today
    • About 1/2 of relnotes are ready
  • Camino 1.6.6
    • Gecko release set for 16 Dec (probably Gecko 1.8.1 EOL from a practical perspective)
  • Camino 2.0
    • Rough scoping doc at Development:Planning:Camino 2.0
      • Need to retriage 2.0 list now; smorgan's done some
      • Anything with l10n impact should be nominated for b1 and add l10n to the whiteboard
      • Still a number of serious bugs in Widget:Cocoa needing Core investigation
    • Anti-phishing - can't get permission :(
    • Keyboard loop - Fixed a dozen old bugs, spawned about half-dozen new ones
    • Security exceptions - at least one follow-up needed for 2.0
    • Tabsposé - need to decide on what must be fixed for 2.0; also needs more QA - collecting bugs we should fix
    • Tab dragging - r- on first patch; working on second (no sign of murph in a week)
    • Fullscreen - hendy looking at other bugs (middle-click)
    • Icon work for 2.0 - need to coordinate through Sam; updates promised two weeks ago

    • Gecko strings l10n - need to rework patch; no .dtd solution yet
    • Flashblock whitelist - (batwood/cl)
  • Tinderboxen
    • boxset had a 2+% Ts regression while it was down
    • cb-x1 still reporting with truncated hostname; also, starting to die again Bug 458217
    • cb-minimaya running "1.6-M1.8" Ts (65 min dep)
    • cb-minibinus running "2.0-M1.9" Ts (45 min dep)
    • PPC minis need weekly reboots to keep running
    • cb-miniosx01 has Ts disabled due to paging/low installed RAM
  • Dev docs
    • CBSamplePane: can now build branch-compatible pane using trunk files; cl needs to address review comments
  • Weekly Bugs and Queues update
    • r queue still fairly full, 2.* lists not declining much.

    • Bug 175748 - Need mechanism for creating new blank bookmarks
    • Bug 318931 - History/Bookmarks title changes but URL doesn't (maybe fixed by patch on Bug 438256?)
    • Bug 363664 - When right clicking on folder "Bookmark Info" should read "Folder Info"
  • xpfe cleanup
    • Bug 389140 gets us using the right theme files; needs r=mento
    • Bug 428333 license.html; needs r=mento
    • stefanh has a "build finishes, crashes on startup" MOZ_XUL_APP patch
